Almost in every corner of the world, we discover lost items regularly. More than its worth, its sentimental value and story suggest quite a bit to whoever created it. A similar discovery has been reported in Michigan. Captain Jennifer Dowker was cleaning their boat’s hull regularly. As she went through this process, she noticed what appeared to be a bottle. When she removed the note from the envelope and began reading it. The person who wrote the notice has asked whoever discovered it to sign their name “George Morrow” on the back. Given that it was dated November 1926, the Captain was initially slightly perplexed by the information.
After giving it time to sink in, Captain Dowker posted this account on Facebook for everyone to read. This narrative drew the attention of many curious people, and as a result, the hunt for George Morrow got underway. Since this message was 95 years old, the mission may appear impossible to complete.
The power of social media was partially demonstrated by the successful mobilization of many individuals, including a significant number of ‘Morrows.’
When George Morrow’s daughter was located, the quest could finally come to a successful conclusion. After talking with her, Morrow’s daughter hypothesized that it was possible that her father had written the note since it was written within the month designated as his birthday month. Captain Dowker was granted liberty to conceal the bottle and the notice to her satisfaction.
This was a very thrilling event because a large number of ‘Morrows’ were able to meet each other for the first time. This is not the first time that Dowker has found messages floating in the ocean. She adores how the water bestows upon her gifts that have significant emotional weight.
