The ‘Boy Next Door’ farmer edition calendars are more impressive than firefighters’ six-packs of beer. Because both men and women struggle with feelings of insecurity regarding their bodies, it gives us great pleasure to observe, for the year 2023, regular, fit guys posing in endearing farm scenes.
You will find some of Ireland’s most dashing farmers shown below in an assortment of endearing and humorous poses. This thirteenth edition is unique in that it contains 23 photographs rather than the standard 12 images found in previous editions. All of these photographs were taken over two years. According to Ciara Ryan, the designer of the calendar series, new photos were not allowed to be published due to restrictions imposed by Covid during the previous year. As a result, this calendar is a blend of shoots that took place as far back as 2019 and as far forward as October 2021.

Bored Panda reached out to the representative to acquire additional information regarding the creative process. Ciara Ryan, responsible for creating the calendar series, explained to us how everything got started. “In 2009, just before I started the calendar, I saw how popular the Dublin Fire Brigade Calendar was. It got me thinking that if the urban firefighters had their calendars, then why shouldn’t the rural farmers, one of Ireland’s best features, also have their calendars? So I decided to create a calendar specifically for Irish farmers. So it was important to me to showcase the Irish farmer’s instances that were both amusing and sexual. Over the years, our photos have become more sexual than funny, but we still include a mixture of the two. The concept was well received not only in Ireland but also in other countries.”
In addition, Ciara revealed that “the goal is to be the longest-running calendar in the world.” If my body and mind are still up for it when I’m older, I won’t hesitate to continue doing this.
