Unfortunately, as you may have seen from our posts on the Facebook groups ‘What in the $20 wish tattoo machine is this?’ and ‘That’s It, I’m Inkshaming,’ substandard tattoos are rather prevalent. That makes the good ones all the more admirable.
So we at this website decided to shake things up and replace all of the bad designs with a new group of stunning and intelligent ones. For that, we turn to the aptly named ‘Best Tattoos’ subreddit.
This online community was founded in December 2014, and since then, its members have contributed so many photos that the sub has become one of the most spectacular body art collections on the internet. Continue reading to see more of our favorites!

#2 Roberto Carlos created some amazing realistic tattoo art.

We contacted tattoo artist Adam Grant of Gypsystables Tattoo to find out why a specific design was up on this subreddit.
“I’ve learned in my 7 years of tattooing that it doesn’t matter what the tattoo is as long as it’s completed effectively,” Grant told this website.
“If a problematic design is inked well, whether it’s a complete sleeve or just one little letter, I consider it an excellent tattoo. Despite the fact that I loathe the design itself.”
#3 Laura Koski of Pori, Finland, created this tattoo art.

People searching for a new tattoo frequently investigate ideas and photos online (such as this blog article), and some wind up with extremely fashionable designs.
“I’d say there’s been a lot of interest in ‘fine line’ tattoos,” Grant remarked. “I have no problem with the style, but most of the time these consumers are unaware of the hazards associated with thin-line tattoos.”

Because the ink isn’t as firmly packed under the skin as it is with other larger tattoos, Grant’s tattoos (specifically single needles) have the potential to heal more on the dark gray side and fade faster.
“Always review the artist’s portfolio of work and look at samples of healed tattoos as you will get a more honest picture of what you will get,” Grant recommended.

However, there are some masterpieces that never seem to die. “I like tattoos with crisp, aggressive linework and brilliant color,” Adam Grant says.
“If done correctly, those endure longer and are more durable than most current ones. Nothing is more timeless than skulls in my opinion.”

If you’re thinking about getting inked, Grant advises you to always listen to the artist and the advice they give you about your ideas.
“They are experts with years of expertise who understand what works and what doesn’t artistically for you.”
Without a doubt “At the end of the day, you’re the consenting adult, so if you have a tattoo in mind that’s not recommended, go ahead and get it, but please at least listen to the artist. They just care about you and your tattoo.”
