Have you ever imagined what “cat bread” might look like? It’s your lucky day because even if you’ve never thought about it, you’re still invited to investigate this strange reality made possible by none other than an AI.
Mid journey, a popular AI research lab that creates images from textual descriptions, has recently discovered that it can now mix different images.
Internet users have been testing a new version of the Mid journey neural network – V4 – and the author of the Telegram channel “AI melodica” has shown his subscribers the unique imagery generated by the AI from his suggested photos. Instead of text queries, the user explained, you can insert links to images in jpeg format in the search bar to get exclusive content.
And so, fellow Pandas, a “cat bread,” among other things, was born.

This website reached out to Aleksandr, the artist behind these collages, to learn more about him and his inspirations.
Aleksandr comes from a creative family. “For now, I’m a Georgia-based Creative Director at an independent advertising agency DADA, born in Moscow,” he wrote when asked to describe himself.

Because artificial intelligence is still in its early stages, not everyone is interested in it. We became intrigued when it piqued Aleksandr’s interest. “Since ancient times,” he wrote (3-4 years ago). When the possibilities of generative AI became more accessible. At the time, it was rather primitive but still interesting.”
“Because of a technological breakthrough this year, I started a Telegram channel where I explored new opportunities.”

Using Mid journey, Aleksandr obtained some interesting results. But we’re confident that combining photos, say, of two cats, would not produce the same amusing results as Alexandr’s chosen photos did.
We were wondering if Aleksandr used any kind of technique to achieve these results. “So, I really love pop and internet culture,” he wrote. But, from an artistic standpoint, I’m curious about how diametrically opposed concepts and worlds will collide. In general, the main creative formula is to combine something old with something new.”

Aleksandr has named his favorite photos so far, even though it is difficult to choose: “Gigashrek or cat bread?” “I can’t decide!”
He also shared his thoughts on how people perceive his generated images: “AI continues to surprise (and scare a little) people.” Apart from that, Aleksandr encourages others to try it out for themselves and offers some advice to newcomers. “You can give it a shot! It’s very straightforward. Log in to Discord, go to newbie channels, type /imagine, paste two URL.jpegs that you want to blend, and type —v 5 = enjoy.”
Finally, he cautioned, “Beware, it’s very addictive.”
