Dolphins are intelligent creatures with an extraordinary capacity to interact with people via both spoken and nonverbal gestures, as we all know. But what if these intelligent animals can also be adorable? This is the tale of a dolphin whose sweetness has gone viral and melted millions of hearts. Mystique, a 29-year-old humpback whale, has been observed showing guests riches he has discovered in the depths of the water in exchange for food.

Mystique usually comes with something in his snout when the personnel at the Barnacles Cafe & Dolphin Feeding Center (BCDF) come to see him on Queensland’s Cooloola Coast. This includes coral, shells, bottles, and wood. In return, they give him delicious fish scraps. He seems to understand how to coexist with people better than any other animal.

“He goes beneath it, and if he drops it too far out, or if we say, ‘Come on, that’s not good enough,’ he gets below it and brings it to us.” “We swear he has a collection waiting for us,” volunteer feeder Lyn McPherson told ABC.

She went on to say that the dolphin wasn’t taught to do this, but he figured it out on his own during the Covid-19 lockdown. Charming Mystique is now recognized as a clever treasure hunter and as a smart person who always finds a way to catch people’s attention.

The mystery was first spotted swimming with his mother and seven siblings at Cooloola Coast in 1991, according to BCDF workers.

He is the only one in his pod that has the habit of seeking gifts. Another acquaintance often joins him, but just to cash in on the shady benefits. He can’t be confused with any other animal since he has a missing part of his dorsal fin after a fight with a bull shark in 2007.
